Custom Fields represent pieces of information stored individually per Client.
When comparing them with a classical Spreadsheet, a Custom Field would be a column within the Spreadsheet holding the same type of information for each row (Client) with individual values stored in the cells.
When importing or exporting Clients, the values of their Custom Fields are imported/exported as well.
Custom Fields are a Global Feature and can be re-used within multiple Rollouts.
They can be managed under Settings -> Custom Fields by users who are at least Rollout Manager.

When creating an Appointment, you can select a Custom Field where you are storing the Client user's email address in case they do not have a Rollouter account. The appointment invitation is then sent to email address inside of the Custom Field value of the Client:
